GWYF

Welcome to GWYF.org!

George Washington’s Young Friends of Fredericksburg, Virginia are a unique group of living history interpreters, all under the age of 18. They are dedicated to providing a first person portrayal of the young people in the Virginia colonial and federal period. By their actions and reactions, visitors are drawn into a better acquaintance with the late 1700's. The young people involved with GW’s Young Friends are part of a continuous study program. The initial group began with lessons in deportment, language skills, history, and persona development. As these students continue their persona development and study into specific topics of 18th century life, they provide a mentor relationship to any newcomers to the group.
