Hazards

~~~~~~~~
Number of Players: 1 to unlimited, although 5 or 6 is the ideal number.
Equipment needed: 2 dice and a moderate amount of money to throw away.
History: Hazards was quite a well-known dice game in the 18th century, and is the predecessor to "craps". The term for a bad throw in Hazard, a 2 or 3 was "Crabs".
One person starts as a "Caster". The caster throws two dice, aiming to get between a five or a nine. If he gets a 5,6,7,8 or a 9, it is called a "Main". If he does not get any of those numbers, he has lost and the dice go to the next person.
If he gets a Main, the other players then place their bets.If the caster loses, he has to pay the betters back everything they put on the table. If he wins, he takes everything that was bet by all of the players. The Caster rolls his dice after the betting is finished.The table below illustrates what you will roll to win and what you will roll to lose. If your main was 5 for example, if you got an eleven, you would have lost. If you get a number that is neither a loss nor a win, the other players may bet again, and after they place their bets, you roll your dice a second time. Repeat this until you get a loss or a win. If you win, you may epeat the process. If you lose, you must hand your dice to the next player, and let them have a go.
Main Win Loss
5 5 2, 3, 11, and 12
6 6 2, 3, and 11
7 7, 11 2, 3, and 12
8 8, 12 2, 3, and 11
9 9 2, 3, 11, and 12
